Since the 17th of september SFYN Rotterdam has a new board. For this reason we would like to introduce ourselves.
‘I am an urbanist from Antwerp (BE). I have a tiny urban farm in my garden, like cooking with seasonal vegetables and am the new chair of Slow Food Youth Network Rotterdam.
In my work as an urbanist, I focus on creating more liveable cities for everyone. Food systems and how they affect our health, land use, climate, … has always been my personal fascination in city making.
I have been living in Rotterdam for a year and a half and see SFYN Rotterdam as a great way to get to know the city better from a food system perspective but also to give back to its community by creating a growing SFYN network.’
Krati (board member):
‘I am a freelance photographer and a food writer, passionate about local and seasonal food. I am an Indian expat living internationally for more than a decade and have been calling Rotterdam home since last Spring.
I run a social media campaign promoting seasonality in food by creating recipes using seasonal ingredients and encourage people to buy local and support the local producers and makers.
I will be taking on the board responsibilities at SFYN Rotterdam and I am also very keen in being involved in activities that can help us make a better system where everyone can get a fair share including our planet.’
‘I am very much looking forward to fulfilling this role as secretary within SFYN Rotterdam!
My name is Emma and I am 23 years old. I have been living in Rotterdam for a year now and am very much enjoying it. Before living in Rotterdam I studied Nutrition and Dietetics in Groningen.
Since I live in Rotterdam I work as a clinical dietitian in the Academic hospital in Utrecht. In addition to providing the appropriate (nutritional) care at an individual level, I believe that it is also important to use my knowledge on the subject of nutrition at the level of our society.
As the secretary I will be responsible for most of the internal communications to the members within SFYN Rotterdam.
The start of the new board also means that Anouk (former chair) and Michèle (former board member) have completed their time within the board of SFYN Rotterdam. We would like to thank them for all the effort that they have put in SFYN Rotterdam.
