About Food.Film.Fest.

From November 10 to December 10, 2024, inspiring stories about food sustainability and change will be showcased across various cities and towns in Flanders and the Netherlands. We’ll be joining in with a screening of Thank You For the Rain at Voedsellokaal de Gymzaal in The Hague.

About Thank You For the Rain

Thank You For the Rain is a film by Kisilu Musya, a Kenyan farmer, climate activist, and video diary maker, and Julia Dahr, a Norwegian filmmaker and activist. Kisilu uses his camera to document the lives of his family and community and the impact of climate change on their lives.

Many farming families, like Kisilu’s, are being forced to leave their homes. When a severe storm brings him together with a Norwegian filmmaker, we witness his transformation from father to community leader and global activist.

Through his story, Kisilu shows us the strength of a united community, the value of agroforestry, and the power of resilience.
